Things I love...its coming along!

Okay, so It's not what I sketched, but it's getting there. I added the rhinestones for a bit of bling. Now comes the journaling. Perfect time to practice my calligraphy skills..probably NOT. Hope to be finished by weeks end. I don't have a recent shot of me I like....guess I have to take one. Happy Scrapping

Things I love at 27 Pre-Page!

I am a chronic scrapper. Everyday I find something creative that I can scrap. A fellow scrapper on sparkpeople.com. has a "Things I {heart} at 25” so I swagger jacked her theme and created a page for myself. A link to her blog is below. My list has about 20-25 things I love now and I am going write a journal entry about being 27, female in 2008 in working class Black America and America. This is a picture of the sketch of the page I am going to scrap. I was at work and started doodling (I love my job) and this is what I came up with. Stay tuned for the actual page. Happy Scrapping!

This is a picture I took at Hermosa Beach in Cali. There is nothing special about it, but I just loved how the light hit this beach house. The biker was icing on top.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SCRAPBOOKING

I work for the state health department and I visit a parenting class once a week. The majority of the class are Hispanic Immigrants. I walked in one day and they were scrapbooking. I was so excited.
As a part of the parenting class, the instructor introduced them to scrapbooking and they loved it( some of them). For some it was a way to express their love for their family for others it was a new found hobby.

Anyway, it just made me think that scrapbooking for some of us is a trendy hobby that is it the 'in" thing to do as a stay at home mom, or let's see who I can out scrap, but for others it is therapeutic. I found this article about the history of scrapbooking. It's a quick and interesting read! Meredith Happy Scrapping!
